The extension of the “Quai de Flandres” was inaugurated on 20 June 2019, in presence of numerous personalities.
After 2 years of work, the length of the Quai de Flandres is now increased to 1785 meters, of which 1000 dredged to 17.30 meters of depth, which allows to receive simultaneously and in all tidal conditions 2 ULCS (Ultra Large Container Ships) 400 meters long, the world’s largest container ships.
These extension works, of colossal magnitude, combined with the arrival of two new gantry cranes next year, will allow to strengthen the competitiveness of the Terminal Des Flandres and the Port.
